Cheville Parquet and Plank flooring is made from an FSC Certified Oak 5mm wear layer with a birch and poplar cross ply backing layer of 13.4mm making a nominal thickness of 18.4mm*. Plank flooring is boxed in packs of 2.13m2, Parquet is packed in recycled cardboard packs of 0.580m2.
* May be reduced with surface treatments of surface sawing, hand scraping, sanding or abrasive polishing between coatings of finish.
The grading of the oak is based upon the natural graining pattern and characteristics of the timber, which means the majority of boards will be either prime straight grain or quarter-sawn with below 20% of boards displaying minimal sapwood (less than 20% of the boards surface). Occasional knot holes and shakes where present, are sealed and filled prior to finishing.
Cheville Parquet and Plank flooring is suitable for Commercial/hospitality e.g. Restaurants, Bars, Hotel Foyers, Boutiques, Receptions, Studios and Shops; and residential properties.
When using solid wood, we would exclude bathrooms, shower rooms, conservatories or wet rooms from our warranty.
Engineered flooring is suitable for installation in most rooms in residential properties, but please do seek our advice prior to purchase and installation.
Cheville Parquet and Plank flooring can be installed floating over a moisture retardant underlay, secret nailed, or as a glue down floor onto a suitable sub-floor using a recommended wood floor adhesive.
Our flooring can be installed over underfloor heating systems where the maximum below floor (surface of the screed sub-floor) temperature does not exceed 27°C. See our under-floor heating guidance notes for fitting procedure and client care.
In every case, we would recommend that you use a professional installation engineer for the best possible results
In recognition of our responsibility to the environment, our customers and our suppliers, bases our commercial activities on legal and well-managed forests.
As such, we are committed to producing timber and timber products from independently verified sources. Cheville Parquet recognises that the independent, third party certification of forests and the supply chain is the optimal way of gaining assurances that the timber we trade originates from legal and well managed forests.
To this end we have achieved Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) for a range of products we manufacture and produce. We source our raw material from certified suppliers where possible. We actively encourage and support all our suppliers to go through the certification process and to increase the volume of certified material traded.
Where COC certification is unavailable and alternative sources or products are sought, then as a minimum standard we will not procure any timber that is prohibited under Appendix 1 of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) The company also declares that it is neither directly or indirectly involved in the following activities:
To ensure continuous improvement, the owner is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of this policy and will ensure that environmental issues relevant to this policy are discussed regularly at the highest level of management.
We will ensure that all employees associated with Timber Purchasing are encouraged to act in accordance with this policy and are given appropriate education and training to do so. This policy will be reviewed annually to consider progress made by our supply chain, changes in industry practice and the requirements of our customers.
