Cheville Parquet and Plank Flooring Information

Construction Information

Cheville Parquet and Plank flooring ranges are produced in an engineered construction manufacturing process. Total depth 15mm incorporating a 4mm wear layer available in a wide range of widths and lengths, subject to product specification. +/- manufacturing tolerances. Engineered products are provided with a lifetime wear warranty, subject to terms and conditions.

* May be reduced with surface treatments of surface sawing, hand scraping, sanding or abrasive polishing between coatings of finish.

Surface Oak Grading

The grading of the oak is based upon the natural graining pattern and characteristics of the timber, which means the majority of boards will be either prime straight grain or quarter-sawn with below 20% of boards displaying minimal sapwood (less than 20% of the boards surface). Occasional knot holes and shakes where present, are sealed and filled prior to finishing.

Suitability

Cheville Parquet and Plank flooring is suitable for Commercial/hospitality e.g. Restaurants, Bars, Hotel Foyers, Boutiques, Receptions, Studios and Shops; and residential properties.

When using solid wood, we would exclude bathrooms, shower rooms, conservatories or wet rooms from our warranty.

Engineered flooring is suitable for installation in most rooms in residential properties, but please do seek our advice prior to purchase and installation.

Installation and Under-floor Heating

Cheville Parquet and Plank flooring can be installed floating over a moisture retardant underlay, secret nailed, or as a glue down floor onto a suitable sub-floor using a recommended wood floor adhesive.

Our flooring can be installed over underfloor heating systems where the maximum below floor (surface of the screed sub-floor) temperature does not exceed 27°C. See our under-floor heating guidance notes for fitting procedure and client care.

In every case, we would recommend that you use a professional installation engineer for the best possible results

Precautions

  • Cheville Parquet and Plank flooring is suitable for installation in areas with an ambient temperature of 16-23°C and a relative humidity of 45-65% RH.
  • Adequate protection should be made to prevent damage from furniture e.g felt furniture protectors or gliders.
  • Adequate protection should be made to prevent damage by foot- fall abrasion e.g, the use of protective matting at entrances, protection from standing moisture, spillages etc.
  • Cheville Parquet and Plank flooring is custom made and carefully checked at all stages of production. When despatched, it is regarded as being up to standards of structural integrity, tolerance and surface finish. As with all things hand made, minor variances, tolerances and defects of the forest should be regarded as part of its appeal.

Timber Policy

In recognition of our responsibility to the environment, our customers and our suppliers, bases our commercial activities on legal and well-managed forests.

As such, we are committed to producing timber and timber products from independently verified sources.

  • A bowing limit of 1.5% of the plank length is often considered acceptable. For instance, a plank of 1850mm length should ideally bow no more than 27.75mm (+/- 10%)
  • * Subject to a compatible subfloor, correct storage and installation
  • ** The subfloor surface temperatue must never be allowed to exceed 26°C
  • All information provided is 'typical/general'. For product specific information, please contact us.
  • Images Images will not show all the natural characteristics of the selected grade, but are a fair representation of the final product.
  • Description Brand and Product Names do not indicate origin of product. Products can be partially produced in the UK and partially produced in factories outside of the UK.
  • Variations Smoked/Infused Colour variation is a natural tone reaction due to the sapwood and grain density within any plank. Colour variation is a prevalent aspect of smoked infused floors. Planks can vary from light to dark. This is a natural aspect of a smoked floor and is included within the grade and the flooring supplied.
